2009-2010 QUEEN & PRINCESS

TY YOUNG & ALYSON MASON

ALYSON MASON

PRINCESS 2009-2010

My name is Alyson Mason. I live in Mt. Washington, KY. I am in the 3rd grade at Old Mill Elementary School and, I am looking forward to learning a lot of new things from my teacher Mrs. Stallings. I attend the First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington where I was baptized this past year.

I enjoy softball, swimming, reading and listening to music. This summer I played on the All Star team 8 years and under where we were Reserve State Champions. It was fun traveling with my family and friends but it felt like summer flew by with not much time to ride my horse.

I love to participate in the Kentucky Junior Rodeo Association. On rodeo weekends I can be with Zippy, my friends, and my family all weekend. I compete in all the fun rodeo events and ride my horse alot. At home on the farm Zippy and I go on trail rides in the woods and walk through the creeks. She does not care if I put a saddle on her or not. Sometimes, if I don't have much time I just jump on her and go. My little sister has started rideing some too and likes to go with me at times. I am sure before long we will explore many more areas of our farm.

Ever since I was a baby watching the rodeo we attended I have loved the Grand Entry with all the flags and contestants. As the rodeo princess I will get to carry the greatest flag of all, the American Flag. I hope to bring new members to the KJRA so they can have as much fun as I have had in the last two years.

Your princess,

Alyson

If it doesn't involve ropin' ridin' or saddles count me out.

TY YOUNG

QUEEN 2009-2010

HI, my name is Ty Young. I am in the 8th grade at Caldwell County Middle School in Princeton, KY. I serve as Sergeant-at-Arms of my class. I was Who's Who of Academic Excellence, scored all distinguished on the state CATS test and have a 4.0 gpa. I am a member of several clubs in school including Beta Club, Ky Jr YMCA, Student Council, Pep Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I am a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, where I enjoy participating with the youth group.

I enjoy all sports with rodeo being my favorite. This is my 2nd year to be in the Ky Junior Rodeo and Jr. High Wrangler Division.I will be participating in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, ribbon roping and break-away roping this year. I made several new friends last year and it was great to be competing with others my age. I also am a member of the National Barrel Horse Association and American Barrel Racing Association. When I am not at a rodeo or barrel race, I love to go trail riding and camping.

This will be my last year in KJRA and I hope that I can set a good example for all those younger than me in rodeo. I hope to continue to rodeo throughout high school in KHSRA and in college. I also would like to pursue a career in medicine and specialize in pediatrics.

I hope everyone has a great rodeo season!

God Bless,

Ty Young
